The Alami’s magazine for this version is proud to show some business man from south of Thailand. He grew up at Sadao distric, Songkla province. He started a business by doing an agricultural product and livestock for export before changing to energy business.
Mr. Anumad Amad is a Managing director of the Adami company limited (Adami Co.,Ltd ) and Akibam Oil limited ( Akibam Oil Co.,Ltd ) and other energy companies know him very well because he is an entrepreneur that many people keep an eye on him, such as his work and his step through to energy trade routes as a new business man.
He is 51 year olds. He is considered as the top Muslim businessman in Songkla province, and his business is very interesting because he is doing energy business. He mentioned that because of having a lot of chances to travel to many countries, especially in Muslim countries, he gets to know many businessmen in different fields. So, he got experiences from those people, and many people are supporting him, and give some advices in term of doing business.
He established his company on 16 of May in 2003. On behalf of Samila Trading Limited, before rename to be Adami Limited, his company worked on trading and give services all about various kinds of energy, and it has subordinated company that implement of the fuel without fees which located in Muang district, Songkla province and combined with commercial agents in foreign countries such as Hong Kong.
“I personally had the opportunity to travel abroad frequently before starting the business at Adami Company, and nowadays the company has trading agents in Hongkong and elsewhere abroad. So, it is necessary to contact each other”.
He said that his company has experiences to delivery of raw materials like energy continuously for more than 5 years, and he earned the trust of international partners. His company works on energy which people highly need this kind of energy in today’s society.
Having said this, the company has a concept to study the feasibility of implementation like related energy in all forms both supply of raw materials and investment. Currently, we study in various forms, such as the production of electricity from solar energy and the processing of natural raw materials to generate electricity or other forms of renewable energy.
He is not only a businessman, but he is also the Deputy Secretary General of the Islamic Committee of Thailand and the other position is The Advisory Committee of Sheikhul Islam. He said that the duty of the central of Islamic Committee is very wide including the regulation and oversight of all aspects related to Islam and Muslim life in the country.
In the macro level, we advise the government to have a policy to promote and to protect the rights of Muslims in Thailand. For example, the push for goods and services certified Halal by credible institutions in that country and has been encouraging and promoting in the international arena.
In addition, The Islamic Committee itself must be responsible for the appointment of such subcommittee for religious practices, Such as, working on Amirul Hajj and the various religious activities. I have the opportunity to work with luminaries as Executive Director of the Halal Standard Institute of Thailand to develop and push the Halal products and services which will promote and expand the market for entrepreneurs. At the same time, it is to ensure the consumers worldwide to have confidence in the standards of Halal products and services of enterprises in Thailand.
"The last October, I had the opportunity to join one of the working groups on Meri’s Hajj. All of Muslims are care of this journey. To resolve problems and facilitation are our responsibility. I’m proud of caring our siblings in this case.”
He said from his experiences, he wants to see the Muslim organization and the development, especially the managing skills and allocating people with different expertise. It would be good for the organization.
Moreover, respect each other, open mind, listen to other opinions, learn their knowledge and new information, and encourage people to develop their organizations, all of these points will make the organization and members become more successful.
"The cornerstone of Islam is to be generous. I always think that if I have chance and possibility, I must help my community and provide them with good opportunities to have a better society".
He repeated that he has a chance to help the community in some areas to build a groundwater and to promote the dissemination of religious knowledge through the support of religious teachers. He provides scholarships to students who lack of financial support and donates medical equipment to the hospitals for both Muslims and non-Muslims. "When God gives him the ability to care for others, he is delighted to have this opportunity”
As a Muslim businessman, He sees that business opportunities of Muslim society are currently increasing. So, to encourage the opportunity of the private sector to sell products and to export in the big amount, which he has been involved in the Halal Standard Institute under the supervision of the Central Islamic Committee of Thailand, it will be more recognized.
So, when we put it together with the ability to produce agricultural products, food and other services such as tourism to an impression of both domestic and foreign, the opportunities to enhance income into the country might be possible.
Another 2 years, it is a time to enter to the Asean community (AEC) and there are more than 300 million of Muslims from 600 million people of ASEANs. However, for Songkhla Province, we have several potentials, such as deep-water port, natural beauty, and raw materials. If we educate people and enhance our products, and has Halal label, I believe that our economic opportunities will be increasing in Songkhla.
He said that “currently the company are discussed with the major operators from 3-4 countries. So, the possibility for establishing Halal Industry might be possible. So, people in the community can get a lot of benefit from this project including tourism, such as hotels, restaurants, or even with other small operators.
Thailand has several advantages compared to the neighboring countries when it comes to the issues of cuisine and services, which are well-known by people around the world. Thailand’s participation in the ASEAN Economic Community (AEC) by 2015 will provide the Thai entrepreneurs with a great opportunity to expand their market. Quality assurance in Halal food manufacturing in Thailand is internationally accepted and reliable.
This is because we have been using a reliable scientific method to detect non-Halal component in the food. Therefore, the Thai entrepreneurs should make use of the reliable Halal control standards in the country to promote their products in the region so that they are able to explore new Halal food market and capture a bigger market share.
